Hi Max, Thanks for posting here. Make sure we are not set any “startup” script and go to check the items in startup list form system configuration panel by running msconfig.exe. We can also test by booting into safe mode and logon with this user account. Thanks. Hello Tiger, When I uncheck the option "User must change pwd at next logon" then the user is able to login to the server. My issue is that when the above option is checked (such that the user changes his pwd)...i'm getting the error "The network address is unvalid"...after the user has entered his new password. Thanks for reverting back...

If you have workgroup client-server configuration, then after changing the password locally the user could not "connect", because the passwords on local computer and server are different ones. In workgroup configuration the security is local property. Unless the password is orchestrated with that of at the server, then the local user is not able to use shared resources at server. (Everyone is responsible for his or her computer security. That is why Active Directory is used for centralized security administration, which make computer network security simpler to manage . If domain user changes his or her password at his or her workstation, while being logged into domain (domain account), the password is changed on domain controller. )

Hi Milos, > When the user logins, he is prompted to change the pwd. When he enters his new pwd , he's getting the following message "The network address is invalid". I think this is not the problem coz according to what Max mentioned so far I understand that this issue happened when try to logon this server locally with the updated local user account on this server itself and nothing to do with C/S mode. Max , please correct me if I misunderstand. Thanks.
